Still Around

You might never guess it from the time between posts, but I am still here. I got my lung transplant at Methodist Hospital in Houston on October 18, 2012, and have been going through the long process of recovery that generally takes up to a year. Things have mostly gone well with the exception of a virus last week that put me back in the hospital with a 102.8 fever. Transplant patients, with their suppressed immune system, are particularly susceptible to opportunistic infections that "normal" people shake off without problem.

So that's the main news for now. Don't know how much I'll be posting in the future but let me send a special shoutout to any of my "old" readers who used to be regulars here several years ago. Hope you guys are doing well and leave me a message if you can. Let me know if you're still posting; Blogger has made a bunch of changes since I was last here. If you've just discovered this page by accident, there's a lot of stuff here in the archives you may find amusing and/or entertaining ... or not. Check it out anyway.

In any case, best wishes and thanks for stopping by,
